As you can see on the pictures the clouds are getting darker\u2026 One hard lesson we have learned : our raincoats and our shoes are not strong enough to withstand heavy rain. After one hour we can get completely wet inside our clothes which is not comfortable at all. On a sunny day we took \u201cMonster\u201d and \u201cTank\u201d (our bikes nicknames) to a shop called \u201cBike Passion\u201d. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">We were a bit afraid about the prices\u2026 Everything is super extra expensive in Geneva\u00a0<span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0!!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"m\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">Entering the shop we met a great guy working here called Fred. He wanted to know more about Non La Project so we gave him our name cards. He told us he would call us when the bikes would be ready.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"m\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">The following day, Fred called Thibault on his phone to tell him the bikes were ready. Thibault was about to ask for the total price when Fred said :\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">\u201cWe really like your project so we have repaired, maintained and cleaned your both bikes for\u2026.free\u201d !<span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"m\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">We didn\u2019t know how to say thank you to Fred and Bike Passion shop. We came to see them in the afternoon, had a good and long talk with Fred. When we started to talk about him and his life he shared with he used to be a professional cyclist\u2026 and that he did the Tour de France !! Amazing : our bikes were checked by an ex-Tour de France participant! Well\u2026 it really depends on the country and what we can find !\u00a0<span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"m\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">First of all, we really love our lunches when we cycle as we are free to stop wherever we want in the nature. In Europe it is very easy to find a public bench or even a wooden table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"m\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">We will always go for bread, vegetables (avocadoes, tomatoes, etc.), fruits (berries, bananas, kiwis) and nuts (usually peanuts!). We then usually have some cheese (mozzarella or more local cheeses) and sometimes ham or fish (generally tuna!).<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"m\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">And for dessert\u2026 as we have been through some countries like Switzerland and Austria: chocolate!\u00a0<span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">The big advantage of travelling by bicycle is you can eat basically whatever you want and in the quantities you want without getting weight. Robert has done a very long bicycle trip from Germany to Australia which lasted more than two years. It was really great to hear all his experiences and learn from him as we will go through some countries where he cycled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"xl\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">Austria is our fourth country and is very close to Germany in terms in culture and language. But we can feel its countryside is very quiet and less populated. We can often see wild animals such as deer<span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"_5mfr\"><span class=\"_6qdm\">?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0which do not hear us arriving and then run away completely frightened when they finally see us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"xl\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">From Salzburg to Vienna we have kept following the Alps mountains. After 6 months, Nung, Hao &amp; Thi completely managed to adapt to their new environment and by talking with all the staff we could see everybody really love their presence here!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"l\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">But it didn\u2019t stop there\u2026 On our departure day, Laure &amp; Fabien prepared for us a big surprise : a donation of 563 euros for Non La Project and cookies\/breads generally offered by the local bakery\u2026. We couldn\u2019t know how to express our deep gratitude to all of them. The 563 euros donation corresponds in kilometers to the additional road we did to go from Roanne (where we had met other Vietnamese apprentices\u2026 remember?? <span class=\"_47e3 _5mfr\" title=\"Bi\u1ec3u t\u01b0\u1ee3ng c\u1ea3m x\u00fac wink\"><span class=\"_7oe\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\ud83d\ude09<\/span><\/span>) to their place in Baerenthal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-line-height=\"l\"><span style=\"font-size: 85%;\">After 6 months, Nung, Hao &amp; Thi are back in Vietnam and we wish all the best to find the job they are dreaming of.
